William Young spent a career of 31 years moving up the ranks as firefighter, engineer, and fire investigator to become a Captain for the last eight years of his career. He never stopped being a firefighter even after he retired, which showed in his actions and caring nature. Bill took care of his family, making sure they always had what they needed, and he never made a promise he couldn't keep. Brother Young died in 2010 after a long battle with job-related cancer
