Braden Varney’s passion for operating equipment and love of helping others led him to proudly follow in his father’s footsteps as a HFEO. He served the citizens of California with honor and distinction for nearly 11 years. Spending time with his family gave him the most joy. He also loved to spend time at the lake, houseboating with friends, riding motorcycles and trying to make others smile. Braden succumbed to fatal injuries battling the Ferguson Fire in Mariposa County in July 2018.
