John Spiker embodied the finest qualities of a true firefighter.   He served the citizens of Ventura County with honor and distinction for more than 25 years.  He was passionate about his career and was a great mentor to those entering the fire service. In his spare time John loved to spend time with his family, golf, hike and enjoyed watersports.  He passed away in December, 2013 from the effects of job-related cancer.
