Ronald Prioste was not only a gifted firefighter but a whiz in the kitchen. He operated Pontillo's Pizza of Mountain View and Applewood Pizza in Los Altos for many years and his recipes were also featured in Firehouse Pizza Kitchen in Napa. Born in San Francisco, he served as a firefighter in Los Altos for 19 years and was firefighter union president for three years. Off duty, he was interested in sports and contributed time to the Special Olympics. He passed away from job-related cancer at his family home in Napa.
