Steven W. Pacatte was a natural leader who wanted to become a firefighter to protect and serve his hometown of San Francisco. He was inspired by many family members in the fire service. Steve was a member of the San Francisco Fire Department’s Cliff Rescue and Surf Rescue Teams. On December 11, 2018, he received a Certificate of Honor from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in recognition of his efforts as part of the SFFD’s mutual aid response to the devastating Camp Fire in Paradise, CA. Steve enjoyed the simple pleasures of life – cooking, working out, traveling, and entertaining family and friends at his home on the Russian River.
