Captain James Ott served 35 years with the Los Angeles City Fire Department until December 13, 2003 when he lost his battle with cancer. Captain Ott, carrying on a firefighting tradition in his family, groomed his sons to also love the profession he served for so long. His sons Matt and Marshall are firefighters with the Los Angeles City and Los Angeles County Fire Departments
