Adolph Oss Adolph Oss was passionate about his career as a firefighter. He began as a volunteer with the Eureka Fire Department where he served for 16 years before moving on to become a career firefighter. His hard work and dedication to service lead him to climb the ranks of the department, eventually reaching the rank of lieutenant. He was considered by his fellow firefighters as one of the most valuable men on the team. Adolph instilled the qualities of a firefighter in his children, always teaching them to put family first, work hard, and be respectful to all. He died in 1964 after suffering from a series of multiple heart attacks while on shift. He is survived by his daughter, Edyth Marie Olsen.
