Sean D. Laffan began his career with the Oakland Fire Department in 2000 and was promoted to the rank of Interim Assistant Chief in June 2020. He is survived by his parents, wife and three sons. One of his sons continued in his father’s footsteps and is a Firefighter Paramedic with Oakland Fire Department. He passed away from a job-related illness in 2020.
