John Stanton Gallup, III

Department: McClellan AFB

Deceased: March 01, 1977

John Stanton Gallup, III Strong, social, dedicated. This is the John Gallup his family, friends and colleagues will remember. A native of Vermont, John came to California in the early 1950s, where he served active duty at McClellan AFB in Sacramento. Post military, John became a civil servant at McClellan AFB as an aircraft mechanic and firefighter. With great pride, he served his town of Loomis as a volunteer firefighter for South Placer Fire for nine years, while running his quarter horse ranch. He became quite a skilled horseshoer. Soon after his disability retirement at the age of 47 and just days after becoming a grandfather, John died of job-related leukemia.
