Vidal “Max” Fortuna was a man who loved his job and his community. Max served the city of Stockton for over 21 years and spent hundreds of hours training new recruits. He took immense pride in teaching the traditions and customs of Stockton Fire. Outside of his work he was active within his community, coaching youth sports. The three things he held most sacred were his faith, his family, and being a firefighter. Max was shot on the scene of a fire in January 2022. He is survived by his wife and two children.
