Gregory “Greg” Ewert loved the fire service. He started and finished his career with the Modesto Fire Department and served the citizens of Modesto with honor and distinction for over 30 years. Ever an example, Greg was a dedicated firefighter who enjoyed teaching new recruits and was part of the Modesto Fire Technical Rescue Team. In his spare time, Greg was an avid fly fisherman. He also loved to read and learn new things, and he was a devoted family man. Greg succumbed to job-related cancer in September of 2018.
