Carlos Estrella was passionate about his career in the fire service, a career that spanned over 30 years. He received the Medal of Valor and was also a part of the USAR, HazMat and FEMA teams, travelling to other countries for disaster relief, often acting as a translator at many incidents. Outside of his work he enjoyed spending time with his family whether that be boating on the river, at a sporting event or just at home together. Carlos passed away from a job-related illness in June 2019.
