Wendy A. Cummings Wendy A. Cummings began her career with the Los Angeles Fire Department in 1982 where she quickly developed a reputation for being an extremely competent, caring, compassionate and dedicated firefighter/paramedic. Wendy was a Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team member, a group that sent her to New York on September 11th. There she served first responders by providing a listening ear, a compassionate touch, and a word of encouragement through counseling for the workers at Ground Zero. Wendy passed away in 2015 after a battle with job-related cancer. She is survived by her mother Winnie, her brothers Dan and Mark, and her sister Missy.
