LODD: Chico Fire Captain Stephen T. Andrews

 

Chico Fire Department and Chico Firefighters, Local 2734 are deeply saddened to announce the loss of one of their own.

Fire Captain Stephen “Steve” T. Andrews passed away on May 21, 2021 after a battle with job-related cancer. He was 53 years old.

He served with the Chico Fire Department as a full-time firefighter since 2000. Prior to his full-time service, Brother Andrews was a member of Chico Fire’s Company 1 (volunteer ranks). He was actively involved as a Rescue Team leader and served as a physical training leader for recruit academies.

Brother Andrews is survived by his wife and two sons.

Memorial Information:
A service for family and uniformed personnel will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1877 Hooker Oak Ave, Chico, CA 95926. The service will begin at 11:00am.

A procession route intended to allow public observance will be held in downtown Chico along Broadway St, beginning at 1st St, at approximately 12:30pm.

A public graveside service will follow at Glen Oaks Memorial Park, 11115 Midway, Chico, CA 95928 starting at 1:00 pm.

If anyone wants to make a donation, the family has requested donations be made to the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in his memory.
