LODD: CAL FIRE Assistant Chief Josh Bischof

It is with sorrow that CAL FIRE and CAL FIRE Local 2881 share news of the passing of one of their own.

Assistant Chief Josh Bischof, a 24-year veteran with CAL FIRE, was killed in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2023, while fighting a wildfire in Riverside County.

Brother Bischof, 46, leaves behind his wife and two children.
