Copy of LODD: Kern County Fire Captain Michael Bruce Wells

It is with great sadness that the Kern County Fire Department and Kern County Firefighters Association IAFF Local 1301 share news of the passing of one of their own.

Fire Captain Michael Bruce Wells, 51, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024. His passing followed a difficult battle with occupational-related cancer. Captain Wells proudly served the community as a member of the Kern County Fire Department for 30 years. Throughout, his reputation was that of a steady and reliable leader, but all who knew him would describe him as a family man. He is survived by his wife Lisa, their three sons Colton, Caleb, and Christopher, as well as a loving extended family.

There has been a tremendous outpouring of support for the Wells family, and we are extremely grateful. If you wish to pay your respects to and honor Bruce and his family, please join us at his memorial service.
